A study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology with Children and Adolescents has explored the Psychometric Properties of the parent version of the Preschool Coping Scale.

For this purpose, a total of 525 caregivers, children aged 2 years 9 months to 6 years (M = 4.4; S.D. = 0.795) were recruited and the Coping Scale for Preschoolers, parent versions (EAP-P) was applied: scale Likert of 23 questions.

The results show an adequate fit of the model to the data (RMSEA=.05; NFI=.93; TLI=.91; CFI=.93) and an Omega Alpha Coefficient: .81 for the final scale of 14 items.

With all this, it is determined that the EAP-P is presented as a valid and reliable instrument to evaluate coping in children from 3 to 6 years old.
