A study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology with Children and Adolescents has explored the Psychometric Properties of the parent version of the Preschool Coping Scale.
For this purpose, a total of 525 caregivers of children aged 2 years 9 months to 6 years (M = 4.4; SD = 0.795) were recruited, and the Coping Scale for Preschoolers, parent version (EAP-P), consisting of a Likert scale with 23 questions, was administered.
The results indicated an adequate fit of the model to the data (RMSEA = .05; NFI = .93; TLI = .91; CFI = .93) and an Omega Alpha Coefficient of .81 for the final scale comprising 14 items.
Based on these findings, it is concluded that the EAP-P is a valid and reliable instrument for evaluating coping in children aged 3 to 6 years.
