On January 17th, the first scientific and professional conference of the EMO-CHILD project “Mental Health in Childhood and Adolescence: Global Actions for a Complex Issue” will take place. The event will be held from 10 am to 2 pm in the Conference Hall of the Arenals Building, on the Elche campus of the Miguel Hernández University, and is aimed at psychology and education students and professionals. The program includes a review of the State of Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Spain and the initial steps of the EMO CHILD Project. Following this, there will be a Panel Discussion on Family and Child Mental Health dedicated to the role of the family environment in addressing psychological issues in childhood. This will be followed by another panel titled “School and Child Mental Health,” addressing the situation and challenges for emotional well-being in the school context. Researchers from the EMO-CHILD Project will participate in the event: Mireia Orgilés, professor of child psychological treatment and principal investigator of the project, José Antonio Piqueras, professor of psychological assessment, and José Pedro Espada, director of the Research Center for Childhood at UMH. Also participating are researchers Mateu Servera from the University of the Balearic Islands and president of the Spanish Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Iban Onandia from the University of the Basque Country, and Mª Fe Rodríguez from the National University of Distance Education.
