Within the qualitative study of the EMO-CHILD Project, we recently had the opportunity to discuss with mothers of adolescents from IES Miguel Delibes in Torrejón de la Calzada (Madrid). When considering the current state of mental health in the child and adolescent population, it is essential to take into account the perspective of families to identify needs and propose improvements. The perception of mothers about the strengths and weaknesses of their children when facing life difficulties is crucial to better understand mental health problems and devise appropriate strategies. Among other topics, the mothers discussed the concept of mental health, the normalization of seeking psychological help, the role played by social networks, and other challenges that families face in the daily education of their children. Soon, we will be able to draw conclusions of great interest to better understand the current challenges in child and adolescent mental health.
