José Pedro Espada

Director of the research center

Professor of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatment. His research interests have focused on the treatment of emotional problems in children and risk behaviour in adolescents. He was the founder and director in its first stage of the Journal of Clinical Psychology with Children and Adolescents. He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications and fourteen books, among them: “Conductas adictivas en adolescentes” (Síntesis), “Terapia psicológica con niños y adolescentes” (Pirámide) or “Tratamiento paso a paso de los problemas psicológicos en la infancia y adolescencia” (Pirámide).

Mireia Orgilés

Professor of Psychological Treatment. Her research focuses on emotional problems in childhood and is the director of the University Master’s Degree in Psychological Therapy with Children and Adolescents. She is manager of the Psychology area of the Division of Coordination, Evaluation and Scientific and Technical Monitoring of the State Research Agency. She has published more than 200 scientific papers and has twice received the Young Researcher Award granted by the Social Council of the UMH. She is co-founder of a spin off based in the science park, dedicated to the transfer to society of psychological interventions with scientific evidence.

Alexandra Morales

Doctor and graduate in psychology with an extraordinary degree award. University Professor in the area of Personality, Assessment and Psychological Treatment. She has been a visiting researcher at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California San Francisco. Her research interests focus on the study of sexual risk behaviours in adolescents and the evaluation of affective-sexual health promotion programmes in schools. Early Career Award in 2017 for her research profile, awarded by the European Society of Prevention Research.

Iván Fernández

Degree and PhD in Psychology with extraordinary award. Assistant Professor Doctor in the area of Personality, Evaluation and Psychological Treatment. He was a pre-doctoral contract researcher of the University Teacher Training Programme (FPU) of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport. During this period, he carried out several research stays at the University of Roehampton in London (UK). His research focuses on the assessment and treatment of emotional problems in children and young people, especially anxiety disorders.

María T. Gonzálvez

PhD in psychology, graduate with extraordinary award. Her research focuses on the assessment and treatment of risk behaviours in adolescents. Since 2016 she is an associate professor in the area of Psychological Assessment and Treatment at the Miguel Hernández University. She is also a lecturer at the Valencian International University. She combines her teaching work with her clinical activity in the spin off PSICOLÓGICA of the UMH. Her clinical activity focuses on child behavioural therapy, covering the assessment and treatment of emotional, behavioural and learning problems.

Jonatan Molina

PhD in Psychology from the Miguel Hernández University. Associate Professor in the Department of Health Psychology. He combines his clinical consultation work with teaching at different universities. He has focused his research work on Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, mainly in the preschool stage, and on externalising behavioural problems. He coordinates the Working Group for the Supervision of Clinical Cases in Children and Adolescents of the Official College of Psychology of the Valencian Community (COPCV) and is a founding member of the Spanish Society of Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology (SEPCIJ).

Teresa Galán-Luque  

Graduate in Psychology from the University of Seville. She did her curricular internship in a center specialised in the treatment of eating disorders in Manchester (United Kingdom). In 2020 she studied the double Master in General Health Psychology and Neuropsychology at Loyola University, receiving an Academic Excellence Scholarship for two consecutive years. Since 2021 she is a researcher of the University Teacher Training Programme (FPU) of the Ministry of Universities. Her research focuses on the study of the efficacy of transdiagnostic treatments for child and adolescent emotional problems.

Damián Hervás

Graduated in Psychology at the University of Seville in 2018, Master in General Health Psychology at the same university and Master’s in Psychological Therapy with Children and Adolescents at the University Miguel Hernández. During his academic training, he has combined research with professional clinical activity in child and adolescent clinical practice in public institutions and private centers for more than two years. He has worked as a research technician in projects on access to reading in people with autism and deafness in the Department of Developmental Psychology and Education. He is currently developing his research on the effectiveness of the transdiagnostic treatment Super Skills for Life as a universal prevention strategy.

Marina Serrano

Graduated in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University and Master’s in Psychological Therapy with Children and Adolescents. She has participated in research projects in Child and Adolescent Mental Health through Grants for the realization of internships in research promotion activities in the Departments and Institutes of the UMH (2022/2023) and Initiation to Research Grants (2023). Currently, she is a researcher in the Researcher Training Program (FPI), conducting research on the evaluation of programs for the prevention of emotional problems in young children from a transdiagnostic approach.

 

Àngela Belzunegui-Pastor

Graduate in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University. She works as a research technician for the EMO-CHILD project, focused on the evaluation and monitoring of child and adolescent psychological problems. She collaborates as a psychologist in curricular practices, conducting psychological assessment and intervention tasks with children and families in PSICOLÓGICA, an assistance center in the scientific park of the Miguel Hernández University. Her research focuses on emotional problems in childhood, a subject on which she has published several articles in scientific journals.

Víctor Amorós-Reche

Graduated in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University. He completed part of his studies at the Università degli Studi di Firenze (Italy). Since 2020, he has collaborated as a trainee researcher in the AITANA Research Group. His research focuses on the assessment and treatment of emotional problems in the child and adolescent population. He has published several studies on child psychological assessment tests and the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on child and adolescent mental health.

María Martínez

Administration technician. She graduated in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Alicante, and later completed the Master’s in Innovation in Journalism at Miguel Hernández University. He has worked in the management of research projects and in the administration of psychology assistance centers.

Rocío Vicedo Sánchez

Graduated in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University of Elche. She is a contracted researcher in the project “Prevention of Emotional Problems in Preschool Children Aged 4 to 6 Years” (PID2021-126473NB-I00), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, where she participates in evaluating intervention programs for emotional problems in childhood.

Pilar Tendero Bernal

Graduated in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University of Elche. She is a researcher in the project “Prevention of Emotional Problems in Preschool Children Aged 4 to 6 Years” (PID2021-126473NB-I00), funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, where she conducts evaluation and psychological intervention tasks for children’s emotional issues.

Natalia Meliá Alonso

Graduated in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University of Elche. She participates in projects for the universal prevention of emotional problems and in the validation of the SUPER KIDS program for preschool children. She is a psychologist intern at PSICOLÓGICA, a spin off of the UMH.

Nadine Hernández Gil

 
Graduated in Psychology from Miguel Hernández University in 2021. She holds a Master’s degree in General Health Psychology from CEU Cardenal Herrera University, a Master’s degree in Psychological Therapy for Children and Adolescents from Miguel Hernández University, and a Master’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology from Rey Juan Carlos University. She is a researcher in the EMOCHILD project for the evaluation and analysis of children’s emotional problems in Spain.
