We have travelled to Madrid to converse with a group of psychologists who are experts in children and adolescents. During the meeting, the mental health situation of minors aged between 8 and 16 was addressed, and the professionals’ perceptions of the current main demands were discussed. Among the challenges highlighted are early and unsupervised access to the Internet and the lack of suitable role models. Additionally, the capacities and limitations that minors have to deal with everyday stress were examined. The discussion also addressed the availability of resources to tackle critical issues such as self-harm, a problem that has become more prevalent in recent times, and suicidal ideation in adolescents. The session took place at the facilities of the Tan&Gram Psychology Center. The qualitative results obtained in these focus groups are crucial for proposing specific actions aimed at improving the well-being of children and adolescents.
